Joe Blow Challenge 2021 Winners

13.02.22 07:45 PM By Joe Blow

We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Joe Blow Challenge.

The Joe Blow Challenge is a contingency award that is offered for the fastest speeds achieved using an AMR300 or 500 supercharger on an air-cooled Volkswagen powered vehicle within the racing year.

There are two basic classes. The JB/36 class, for builds based on the 36hp engine and the JB/BB class for builds based on the 50hp engine. In both classes engine capacity is limited to 1776cc.

JB/36 Class Winner

The winner of the JB/36 was Chris Mursick of Okanagan, Washington State. USA.

Chris ran a top speed of 92.510 mph in his 36hp powered streamliner at the World of Speed event held at Bonneville in September 2021.

Chris is running a modified blown 36hp engine with 1602cc capacity and Wolfsburg West Okrasa heads fed by an AMR500 blower.

Unfortunately Chris ran into some engine troubles and lost compression so was prevented from achieving a higher speed but plans to return in 2022.

We have no doubt that Chris can better his speed when he returns and wish him great success for the 2022 season.

JB/BB Class Winner

Unfortunately no racers ran in the JB/BB category in 2021.
