Unfortunately there were no participants in the 2022 Joe Blow Challenge.
Both Bonneville World of Speed and Speed Week here in South Australia at Lake Gairdner were both cancelled due to weather and flooding. In addition to this many other land speed events in 2022 also saw cancellation due to Covid restrictions.
The good news is that the Joe Blow Challenge is still on for 2023. So if you want a chance at winning some Joe Blow merchandise and products be sure to compete in any of the timed LSR events recognised by the 36hp Challenge and get an official timing slip.
The Joe Blow Challenge is a contingency award that is offered for the fastest speeds achieved using an AMR300 or 500 supercharger on an air-cooled Volkswagen powered vehicle within the racing year.
There are two basic classes. The JB/36 class, for builds based on the 36hp engine and the JB/BB class for builds based on the 50hp engine. In both classes engine capacity is limited to 1776cc.
