How to set your DCOE up to work with the AMR500

An often overlooked aspect of setting up the DCOE for use on a small capacity blown engine like a 1600 is the choke size.  If you're running a competitors kit and wondered why your engine hesitates when you stomp on the gas, it's because the DCOE40 is far too large for the application and needs to be choked down. We discovered this years ago through back to back dyno tuning, but it's a detail of our kits that you cannot see by just looking at it, and a detail completely missed by copycats

Siamesed 40mm barrels are essentially like running one big 57mm carburettor, so when you stamp on the gas and quickly open the throttle to 100%, you get a massive inrush of air, the airspeed drops, the carburettor stops working properly and the engine leans out causing it to stumble. The key is to run smaller chokes to keep the airspeed within the correct limits.

Some will try to tune around this by running oversized pump jets, but that's really little more than a hack hiding the real issue. It will also massively affect the drivability and make it difficult to tune so fitting the correct sized chokes is key.

Our DCOE carburettors are supplied with the correct sized chokes for your application, so you can save yourself some of the guesswork by buying our DCOE40

Once you factor having to change out the stock 32mm chokes on your ebay purchased carburettor and add a throttle wheel and air filter, you're already up to the cost of one of our carburettors. Plus ours come with a 12 month warrantee.

So when you compare dollar for dollar, there is a reason that other carburettors are cheaper
