Alternator fitment
All kits can be fitted with generators and most kits can be used with an alternator, however some kits require that an 'easy access' alternator is used. This style of alternator features a relocated output terminal which provides additional clearance for the manifold.
Performance kit
Our regular performance kits can be fitted with any kind of alternator with no issues. The 'vee' in the inlet manifold sits over the output terminal. We recommend that the stock alternator electrical boot is installed just in case the manifold moves.
Performance Kit (Hideaway Version)
Our hideaway performance kits must be used with an 'easy access' alternator.
Budget kit
Similarly our budget kit requires a 'easy access' alternator to be used.
Dual Blow Through kit
Our dual blow through system can be used with any kind of alternator
Vintage Kit
Our vintage kits can only be used with a generator
Volksrod Kit
Centrifugal
If you are pretty tech savvy it is possible to modify the standard alternator and remove the electrical terminal. You can replace this with a 'flying lead'. However. This is not a modification that we recommend carrying out if you are a novice / amateur or simply do not know what you are doing. Most motor / alternator rewiring shops can do this for you for a small fee.
